A Slate Blue Wedding at the Southern Bleachery

The first time I met Melissa and Cody was during their engagement session. I’d held an couples session giveaway which they won and, SURPRISE, they got engaged shortly after which led to their session officially becoming an engagement session. It is still one of my favorite engagement sessions to date! See it here.

When Melissa asked me to be her wedding photographer, I was ECSTATIC. I knew their wedding day at the Southern Bleachery was going to be beautiful because their relationship was exactly that… beautiful. And it was.

One of my favorite parts of their wedding was the fact that I knew most of their bridal party in some way. Whether it’s because they attended my campus’ Baptist Collegiate Ministry or because we’ve worked together in the past, I was so excited to see so many familiar faces.

From beginning to end, Melissa and Cody’s wedding was a genuine representation of not only their love for each other, but for their love of Christ. From having guests highlight their favorite bible verses, to prayers with their bridal party, and a feet washing ceremony. Despite their love for each other, they wanted everyone to know that their love for Him was greater.

Melissa and Cody, I truly hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from your big day! Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for allowing me the privilege to be your wedding photographer. It was absolutely the BEST day. I hope you’re enjoying PUNTA CANA!!!
