Dusty Blue & Navy Wedding at Legacy Stables & Events in Winston-Salem

From the couple: Lauren and Ali met prior to their first year of pharmacy school when both were seeking roommates for the upcoming year. Lauren had previously committed to rooming with a dental school student but decided to meet Ali so she could know at least one person heading into pharmacy school. They met at Chick-Fil-A on UNC’s campus and both walked away feeling like they would get along. Unfortunately, the dental school student cancelled on Lauren and she reached back out to Ali who luckily had space for one more roommate. Five years, 2 dogs, 6 moves, and 1 year long-distance later, Lauren and Ali are finally getting married!

The proposal story from Ali’s point-of-view: Lauren and I planned a vacation for Seattle right after the end of my pharmacy residency in Atlanta. On our second day in Seattle, we took a ferry to Bainbridge Island. The ferry was moved much faster than the Ocracoke ferries, so it was incredibly windy and chilly. Lauren said could you imagine getting married on a ferry like Alex and Jo (Grey’s Anatomy)? No, not if this is how fast a ferry moves! “How about getting engaged on one?” she followed up and dropped to one knee. I have never been more surprised in my life. I barely remember what happened next (except hurry up and put the ring on before it blows into the ocean!!), and the next 3 hours of calling everyone to share the good news. To be honest, I don’t remember much about Bainbridge Island, but I know I’ll remember that day for the rest of my life!

After the events that led them together, the proposal, and all the years in between, Ali and Lauren finally tied the knot at Legacy Stables and Events!  Ladies, thank you so much for inviting me to capture your amazing wedding! It was seriously beautiful from start to finish and I’m BEYOND excited to share over 100 of my favorite images with you!! Ahh! Enjoy!
