New Brand + Name Change!

It’s officially official! Everdawn Photography is now Yessica Grace Photography! It took weeks of planning and designing to bring my vision to life, but it took MONTHS for me to decide whether a name change was best for my business. I asked many photographers, friends, and family, and everyone had something different to say. Therefore, the decision was ultimately my own.

There are two major reasons I chose to change my business name

1. Everdawn Photography was not personal. It had no meaning, it was random, and when people asked me what it meant, I had no response. I came up with it my sophomore year of high school. Now I’m a sophomore in college. When I thought of the name, I simply thought it sounded cool. I never thought this would actually become a full fledged business.
2. Everdawn and Yessica felt like two different entities. I didn’t want to separate myself from my business because, in a way, I am my business. I didn’t want to be known as Everdawn Photography. I wanted to be known as Yessica.

Now, you’re probably wondering: why Grace? Grace isn’t my name, my middle name, or my last name. But it’s significant for more reasons that one.

First, my eldest niece is named Graciela. Her nicknames are Gracie and Grace. It’s weird to think of her as my niece because she feels more like a sister to me. We’re seven years apart, but we essentially grew up together. She is one of my best friends and one of my biggest blessings. This isn’t saying I don’t love my other niece and nephew alike – I love them all so very much. But Gracie and I just simply have a different relationship for all of the reasons mentioned above.

Second, my future daughter’s middle name is Grace. I decided that years ago, but nothing’s changed. The name is just so special to me. Her first name has been decided for years as well, but that will be kept a secret for now.

Lastly, I was saved by Grace through Faith.

So there you have it, the reason I decided to change my business name and the meaning behind the new one. It’s definitely a season of change around here and I’ve never felt more thankful, rejuvenated, and ready for new things.
